Prof. Sharma is a Gold medallist of Faculty of Technology from Vikram University. He was sent by Govt. of India as a National Scholar for higher studies abroad and he obtained his Post Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Birmingham (UK) in 1974 and received the Post Graduate Prize for being the topper of the Engineering Faculty of University of Birmingham. He later received his Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham (UK) in 1978. A career spanning over 37 years, he brings with him a combine of the wisdom of an IIT professor, an institution builder and Director of premier institutions such as DCE and maturity to excel a university of technology. Prof. Sharma is an IT savvy technical education administrator having knowledge and vision of building world class institutions.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Amit University in the capacity of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sharma has served as a VC in Delhi Technical University, Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal and Director in Delhi College of Engineering. He was also the President of the prestigious Association of Indian Universities from 2017 to 2018. His exemplary contribution towards education is been well recognised and he has been conferred with many honours, awards and fellowships like Honorary Doctorate of Engineering (Honoris Causa) by University of Birmingham (U.K), “Outstanding Contribution to Education”, ET NOW National Education Leadership Awards, “Lifetime Achievement Award 2009” from Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering, Eminent Engineer Award by The Institution of Engineers (India) Delhi State Center, Fellow of Indian Society of Technical Education, Fellowship of World Academy of Productivity Sciences, Sir C.
